Here’s a quick tip for using the dashkards widget more efficiently. You can switch between the different dashkards using the keyboard rather than the mouse. Here’s how it works.
First, switch to a different dashkard using the mouse like you normally do. On subsequent switches you can then use the keyboard. When you activate Dashboard, just press the up or down arrow and the popup menu will open. Then use the up and down arrows to select a dashkard and press Enter to switch to it.
This works as long as the dashkard widget has the “focus” and the last thing you clicked on the widget was the popup menu. When you click a widget, it gets the “focus”, meaning it will receive all keyboard input, even though this focussed state isn’t indicated visually in any way. And it’s the same with all the elements of the widget (the actual dashkard image, the popup menu, buttons, etc.). So if the last thing you clicked was the popup menu of the dashkards widget, it has the focus and will respond to keyboard input as long as the focus doesn’t move somewhere else (e.g. by you clicking another element on the widget or another widget altogether).
